Dr. Craig A. Goubeaux is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction. He completed his Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at Sinai Hospital at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland, and his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Goubeaux received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering from Youngstown State University, in Youngstown, Ohio. While at Youngstown State University he was also a catcher on the varsity baseball team where he served at team captain for one year.

Dr. Goubeaux is licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board. Some of his academic achievements include being awarded Second Place for a Poster Presentation at the Mallory-Coleman Research Day in 2022, membership in Tau Beta Pi (Top 10% of Engineering students at Youngstown State University), and membership in Phi Kappa Phi (Top 10% of the Senior Class at Youngstown State University).

Areas of special interest include anterior approach for hip arthroplasty, same day surgery, rapid recovery protocol after joint replacement, and complex hip and knee arthroplasty revisions.

Dr. Goubeaux has contributed extensively to orthopedic research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in prestigious medical journals. His published work spans a variety of orthopedic subspecialties, including joint reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine, and pediatric orthopedics. Notable publications include pediatric trigger finger management in The Journal of Hand Surgery, outpatient total shoulder arthroplasty in Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery International, and reverse shoulder arthroplasty approaches in Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery.

He has co-authored several case reports and clinical investigations focusing on surgical outcomes and rare orthopedic conditions, such as nerve palsy following total hip arthroplasty and acute pyogenic flexor tenosynovitis. 

Dr. Goubeaux remains actively engaged in clinical research. His current investigations focus on implant performance in total knee arthroplasty, the design and fabrication of new arthroplasty implants, and usage and outcomes after robotic assisted arthroplasty.  His research aims to improve surgical techniques, patient outcomes, and postoperative protocols across orthopedic subspecialties. He has presented his research at regional and national conferences, including Nationwide Children’s Hospital Surgical Research Day, the Ohio Orthopaedic Society Annual Meeting, and the OhioHealth Regional Research Symposium.

Dr. Goubeaux is a dedicated member of several professional organizations, reflecting his commitment to staying at the forefront of orthopedic innovation and patient care. He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Away from work, Dr. Goubeaux enjoys spending time with his wife, three kids, and two dogs, going to Blue Jackets, Clippers, and Ohio State games, working out, yardwork, visiting different breweries around town, and golfing. Dr. Goubeaux and his wife, Michaela, and three children Graham, Andrew, and Madelyn, reside in Hilliard, OH.
