OrthoNeuro is proud to announce that Dr. Scott Smith, one of our outstanding orthopedic and sports medicine physicians, has been named Medical Director at Match Point Pickleball Club.
This appointment is part of a new partnership between Match Point Pickleball Club and OrthoAlliance, designed to enhance player health, safety, and performance. Through this collaboration, Dr. Smith will provide medical oversight, injury prevention guidance, and expert support to Match Point’s growing community of pickleball players, from beginners to seasoned competitors.
“I am excited to partner with Match Point Pickleball Club and contribute to the well-being of its members,” said Dr. Smith. “Pickleball is a rapidly growing sport that offers incredible health and social benefits. My goal is to help players of all levels stay healthy, prevent injuries, and continue to enjoy the game they love.”


Dr. Smith brings a wealth of experience in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry, cum laude, from DePauw University, he went on to obtain his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at The Ohio State University.
His career includes providing care for athletes at The Ohio State University, Westfield High School, and the Columbus Clippers Baseball Team. He currently serves as the team physician for Hamilton Township High School. He has published and presented extensively in the field of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Before joining OrthoNeuro, Dr. Smith practiced at Riverview Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, where he served as Medical Director for the Sports Medicine Service Line. He is a proud member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Smith’s compassion extends beyond the clinic. He has participated in medical mission trips to Nicaragua, where he has provided orthopedic care in underserved communities. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, playing sports with his two sons, spending time with his golden retriever, and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and Ohio State Buckeyes.
