COLUMBUS, Ohio – OrthoNeuro is pleased to announce that neurosurgeon Ranjit Ganguly, MD, the chief resident of neurological surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, joined the practice on July 17, and will treat patients at three OrthoNeuro locations.
Dr. Ganguly is a native of Fairfield, Ohio, and received his bachelors, masters, and medical degrees from The Ohio State University. He has subspecialty fellowship training in treating spinal conditions, movement disorders, and pain.
Dr. Ganguly will see patients at OrthoNeuro’s New Albany, Grove City and Pickerington locations.
“OrthoNeuro offers very personalized care,” Dr. Ganguly said. “It has a small town feel but expert level care to all patients. I wanted to stay and work in the community by taking care of the people here, and OrthoNeuro is giving me that opportunity. The practice has a stellar reputation, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
“Dr. Ganguly is a highly skilled, highly trained neurosurgeon, and we are excited to bring him and his expertise to OrthoNeuro as we continue to expand access to the tremendous care and latest techniques and technologies that we offer at OrthoNeuro,” said OrthoNeuro President, Larry T. Todd, Jr., DO.
Neurological diseases are caused by dysfunctions of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. These dysfunctions can result in physical symptoms such as numbness, weakness, difficulty moving and speaking, as well as debilitating pain.
Dr. Ganguly, who has published more than 10 research papers on a variety of neurological topics and procedures, said he is drawn to the complexity and technological demands of neurosurgery. “No two patients are alike,” Dr. Ganguly said. “I really enjoy taking care of patients who have brain and spine related disorders. And by joining OrthoNeuro, I will have the ability to provide individualized and very focused care for each and every patient.”
Away from work, Dr. Ganguly enjoys playing tennis, travelling, spending time with family, and martial arts. A second-degree black belt in taekwondo and a first-degree black belt in karate, Dr. Ganguly won a gold medal at the National Karate Federation Championship in 2003. He also enjoys an eclectic array of foods including Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Spanish and other international cuisines.
Dr. Ganguly and his wife, Dr. Mounika Ganguly, a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, live in Columbus.
