Dr. Cheney is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University, where he also served as team captain of the varsity men’s swim team.
Following graduation, Dr. Cheney attended medical school at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and served for a number of years as a phase IV clinical instructor.
Dr. Cheney completed both his internship and orthopedic residency at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Following his residency, he completed a foot and ankle fellowship with the Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
His practice emphasis includes ankle arthroplasty, heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, fractures, and foot/ankle sports injuries.
Dr. Cheney assists the Team Physicians at Ohio University with complex foot and ankle injuries sustained by any of the OU athletes.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Cheney currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Faculty for the OhioHealth Orthopedic Surgery Residents Program based out of Doctors Hospital, and a Foot & Ankle Clinical Reviewer for Orthopedics, a peer-reviewed journal covering all aspects of adult and pediatric orthopedic surgery and treatment, and Foot and Ankle International.

Dr. Cheney is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Ohio Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Cheney resides in Upper Arlington with his wife and three children.
His extracurricular pursuits include exercising regularly, golfing, spending time with his family/friends, and following collegiate sports (especially the Buckeyes).
