Dr. Chen received his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and attended medical school at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa.
He completed his rotating internship with Ohio University at Doctors Hospital Ohio Health Systems in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Chen subsequently served his residency appointment at Doctors Hospital, OhioHealth Systems in Columbus, Ohio as well as skull base training with Midwestern University at the BroMenn Regional Medical Center campus in Bloomington, Illinois and was a visiting fellow in Spine Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Chen has served as chief resident in neurological surgery for two years at BroMenn Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Chen has served on the Credentialing Committee and Institutional Review Board at Mount Carmel Health Systems and serves as the chairman on the Information Technology Committee with OrthoNeuro.
Dr. Chen is a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi and is a member of the House of Delegates with the Columbus chapter of the Ohio Osteopathic Association. He has been published in the area of skull base imaging as well as spinal artificial disc technology.
He was an invited speaker at the American Skull Base Society, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and presented on topics of outpatient spinal surgery.
Dr. Chen is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in his clinical practice.
He has also been involved with the development of curriculums for residency training for neurological surgery and actively participates in clinical training with residents and operating staff.
Dr. Chen holds clinical privileges at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Mt. Carmel New Albany Surgical Hospital, Dublin Methodist Hospital, and Grant Medical Center.
Dr. Chen resides in New Albany, Ohio with his wife and their two children.
