Returning to practice in Ohio is especially rewarding because it allows me to care for patients in the communities that helped shape who I am. I was attracted to OrthoNeuro’s commitment to exceptional patient care, innovation, and collaboration among specialists. My goal is to provide personalized spine care that helps patients overcome pain, restore mobility, and return to the activities that matter most to them, using both advanced surgical techniques and comprehensive non-operative treatments.
Dr. Daniel DeGenova is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine care. He has dedicated his career to advancing the treatment of spinal disorders through exceptional patient care, surgical innovation, and research.
Daniel T. DeGenova, DO is a second-generation orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery at the Sonoran Spine Center in Tempe, Arizona. Prior to that, he completed a 5-year residency with OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio where he was named chief resident. A graduate of Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Miami University, Dr. DeGenova has dedicated his career to advancing the treatment of spinal disorders through exceptional patient care, surgical innovation, and research.
Dr. DeGenova has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and presented extensively at regional and national orthopedic and spine meetings. His research spans spine surgery, orthopedic trauma, and complex musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular focus on improving surgical outcomes and advancing evidence-based care. He is an active member of the North American Spine Society (NASS), AOSpine, and the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS).
Recognized for both his clinical excellence and leadership, Dr. DeGenova is a two-time OhioHealth Orthopedic Surgery Resident of the Year, recipient of the OhioHealth Distinguished Researcher Award and earned the Outstanding Community Service Award. Following in the footsteps of his father, an orthopedic spine surgeon, Dr. DeGenova combines a lifelong passion for spine care with a commitment to helping patients return to active, healthy lives.
