The most common type of hip pain that we see is arthritis. The early treatment programs are, you know, stretching, physical therapy, water therapy, over-the-counter medications such as acetaminophen or Tylenol, those are helpful. 

One of the biggest things that we see is just trying to get people fit, optimize their health and their condition, keeping weight challenges well under control: those are the biggest and easiest things that you can do without even seeing your surgeon. 

Once you’ve done those and you continue to have pain then a surgical consultation may be beneficial.
