Bone, Joint, Muscle Pain? Orthopedic Urgent Cares are an Option
by Heather Benjamin
Have you or a family member ever twisted an ankle that required immediate medical attention? Did you visit an Emerency Room for the injury and wait “forever”? Did you visit an Urgent Care and sit next to someone with flu?
You have another option!
Orthopedic Urgent Care (OUC) Centers offer immediate access to an orthopedic specialist who can diagnose, treat, and perscribe any necessary treatment including splinting/casting, medication, special tests, and physical therapy. They can also schedule follow up appointments with an orthopedic surgeon if your injury requires a surgical consultation.
Orthopedic Urgent Care Centers offer you the same “walk-in” convenience as a regular urgent care without the risk of getting sick from another patient. Most offer extended evening and weekend hours. The cost is typically less than an emergency room and they usually accept most insurances.
