Pelvic Floor Therapy at OrthoNeuro

Restoring Function, Comfort, and Confidence

Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized area of physical therapy that focuses on restoring the strength, coordination, and function of the pelvic floor muscles, a vital group of muscles that support the bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. These muscles work in harmony with the hips, lower back, and even the diaphragm, therefore effective treatment will often address the entire core and pelvic region.

At OrthoNeuro, our pelvic floor physical therapy program provides compassionate, one-on-one care to help women of all ages improve pelvic health, reduce pain, and regain confidence in daily activities.

Who We Treat

Physical therapy (PT) is a healthcare profession involved in the prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and treatment of physical dysfunction and injury.

OrthoNeuro offers effective physical therapy in New Albany and Columbus, Ohio, as well as other central Ohio locations.

Our experienced physical therapists help you recover quickly and properly, so you can return to your everyday activities.

Orthopedic physical therapy practice is based on the science of movement. Physical therapists evaluate and treat the neuromusculoskeletal system with a special emphasis on the enhancement of function.

Common conditions we treat include:

  • Urinary incontinence (leakage or urgency)
  • Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) and pelvic girdle pain
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Interstitial cystitis / painful bladder syndrome (IC/PBS)
  • Pelvic neuralgias and vulvar pain
  • Dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse)

We also support women experiencing pelvic floor changes related to:

  • Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea)
  • Pregnancy and postpartum recovery
  • Diastasis recti abdominis
  • Perimenopause and menopause
  • Post-hysterectomy rehabilitation

What to Expect

Each patient receives a comprehensive 45-minute evaluation with a licensed physical therapist trained specifically in pelvic health rehabilitation.

Your first visit includes:

  • A thorough review of your health history
  • A physical assessment of your core, hips, and pelvic region
  • A gentle, hands-on evaluation that may include external and internal (vaginal) assessment to better understand muscle function and tone

Together, you and your therapist will create a personalized plan of care designed to address your unique needs and goals.

Treatment Approach

Your care plan may include a combination of:

  • Patient education on pelvic anatomy and self-care strategies
  • Therapeutic exercise to improve strength, flexibility, and posture
  • Manual therapy for soft tissue and joint mobility
  • Neuro re-education and relaxation training
  • Breathing techniques and pressure management strategies
  • Guided self-care and home exercises

Our goal is to help you build awareness, control, and confidence, so you can return to your favorite activities without pain or worry.

Insurance & Self-Pay Options

Pelvic floor therapy is covered by most insurance plans, like other outpatient physical therapy services. OrthoNeuro will handle claim submissions directly to your insurance provider.

For patients without insurance or those preferring to self-pay, the cost is $125 per visit.
