Dr. Brian Skura is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in sports medicine. He is dedicated to helping patients of all ages return to their active lifestyles through a combination of surgical and non-surgical orthopedic treatments.

Dr. Skura completed his Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship at the BEACON Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation in Cincinnati, Ohio, following his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at OhioHealth in Columbus. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pennsylvania, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Dayton.

Dr. Brian Skura is a fellowship-trained orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, and hip, as well as total and reverse shoulder replacements. He performs a wide range of advanced procedures, including rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability surgery, SLAP and labral repairs, biceps tenodesis, hip labral repair, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) surgery, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair or meniscectomy, MPFL reconstruction, and cartilage restoration procedures. Dr. Skura also offers expert non-surgical care for common conditions such as patellar tendinitis, Achilles tendinitis, frozen shoulder, trochanteric bursitis, joint sprains, and fractures.

Dr. Skura is passionate about research, education, and academic contributions to the field of orthopedics. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at regional and national conferences. His published work spans a range of topics, including total joint arthroplasty outcomes, surgical techniques for trauma and reconstruction, diagnostic imaging, and complex case reports. Notable publications include studies in Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, Cureus, Journal of Hand Surgery, Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports, and Journal of Long-Term Effects of Medical Implants. Future research topics will be focused within the field of sports medicine on topics such as hip preservation, ACL reconstruction outcomes, and shoulder instability.

In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Skura maintains active memberships in several professional organizations. These include the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO), and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), reflecting his commitment to continued professional development and excellence in orthopedic care.

When he’s not in the operating room or helping patients get back to the activities they love, Dr. Brian Skura enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Alexandra, and their young son, Luca. A devoted family man, Dr. Skura values creating meaningful memories through everyday moments and new adventures.

He’s passionate about traveling, especially to destinations that offer skiing, hiking, or a relaxing escape by the water. Staying active is a big part of his life—he enjoys working out, golfing, and embracing a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Skura also loves cooking at home and exploring new recipes whenever he gets the chance.

On the weekends, especially during football season, you’ll find him rooting for his favorite team—the Ohio State Buckeyes—a tradition that runs deep in his family and Ohio roots.
